Michael Joseph Falanga, Sr. December 28, 1959 – July 23, 2023

Our beloved Mike passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023, after a valiant battle with Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma.

He was preceded by many family members. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years Lou Anne Falanga, son Joey Falanga, daughter Melissa Falanga Sutton (Tyler), and grandson Knox Burrus, two brothers Anthony Falanga (Marsha) and Steve Alter, three sisters Betty Monasco, Peggy Finney (Jay) and Wanda Dowell (Kevin).

After graduating from Memphis Catholic High School, Mike attended Christian Brothers College and later completed Memphis Electrical JATC becoming a Journeyman Electrician through the IBEW Local 474. Mike’s eagerness to expand his knowledge steered him towards Electrical Automation Sales, where he recently retired after spending 41 years in the electrical arena.

Mike spent many years volunteering as an elementary basketball coach then moved into High School sports where he spent 24 years at St. Benedict High School as the official Football Statistician from 1996-2020. Mike also served and the Booster Club President at St. Benedict from 1997 – 1999.

As a member of the Knights of Columbus, Mike served as the Grand Knight from 1999 – 2001 and District Deputy from 2002-2003. He enjoyed woodworking, golf and his favorite pastime was watching his grandson play basketball and competitive baseball.
