Patrick Terry Casey

June 24, 1937 – May 14, 2025

Patrick “Pat” Casey passed away May 14, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Marshalltown, Iowa to John and Dorothy Casey, he was raised in Oskaloosa and later attended the University of Iowa, where he met the love of his life, Linda Johnson. In 1959, they were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Morse, Iowa and shared 65 wonderful years together. After earning his degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology, Pat served proudly in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Enterprise. His career in corrections spanned 32 years, beginning with the Iowa State Department of Corrections and continuing with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and later Corrections Corporation of America, where he retired as warden.

A devoted member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bartlett, Pat gave generously of his time and leadership through ministries and volunteer work, including the St. Ann Special Olympics and as a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was honored as Tennessee State Knight of the Year in 2021. He also participated with the Youth Leadership Bartlett, the Bartlett Mayor’s Youth Council, Bartlett Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Bartlett Area Lifeblood Council, the local American Cancer Society, and the Bartlett Chamber Foundation to name a few.

In “retirement,” Pat remained deeply involved in civic and parish life while embracing his favorite role of Grandpa to his 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He and Linda spent countless hours attending sporting events, recitals, and many family celebrations. While 7 of his grandchildren were students at St. Ann Catholic School, he volunteered many hours in the library just so he could see them throughout the day.
