Sir Knight Benson Githinji Mwangi
September 22, 1966 – January 26, 2025
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sir Knight Benson Githinji Mwangi, 58, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness.
Benson Githinji Mwangi was born in Elburgon, Nakuru County, Kenya on September 22, 1966 to the late David Mwangi Githinji and the late Loise Wanjiru Mwangi. He was a humble, kind-hearted man whose actions spoke louder than words. A true renaissance man, he used his many talents to serve others, always ready to lend a hand, offer support, or share his time and resources. His generosity and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane; three daughters, Brigitte Baucke (Joshua), Becky, and Maria; and two grandchildren, Michael and Joseph. He is also survived by nine brothers and sisters, Miriam Mwaura (Alfred), Esther Thuo (Joseph), Milka, Magdalene Karanja (James), Lucy Mwangi (the late John), Francis (Lucia), Samuel (Ann), Margaret, and Wilson (Ann). He also leaves behind numerous other dear family members and many cherished friends who will forever treasure his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Mary Kariuki (Moses) and Ann Chege (Paul).
Visitation: Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122 on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Funeral mass: Saint Ann Catholic Church, 6529 Stage Rd. Bartlett, TN 38134 on February 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM. There will be a visitation prior to the mass from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
Interment: Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Ann Catholic Church in his honor. He was a parishioner and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.
Wonderful gentleman. Soft spoken truly professional and a gentle human being. The best friend a person could have.
