Memorial Day, May 27, 2024

The Deacon Lee R. Hurst Assembly #2183 in conjunction with Boy Scout Troop 133 serving Oakland/Somerville, conducted a Solemn Flag Retirement Program at dusk on Memorial Day.  Veterans, Scouts and attendees participated by placing pieces of deconstructed American Flags collected by our Assembly into the fire built specifically for this purpose.  A Moment of Silence was observed at the end of the ceremony to commemorate those who gave their lives in the service of our Country.
