June 21, 2023 – Pictured here, on the 16th Anniversary of his passing to Eternal Life, is the widow of Sir Knight John Steele, Eva Steele, handing his sword over to Sir Knight George Moore of our Assembly. George was John’s Confirmation Sponsor when John joined the Catholic Church. John was a Third Degree member of Council 7170 and later Council 616. John was a 4th Degree Sir Knight in our Assembly (2183) and later in Cardinal Stritch Assembly (1082).
We are honored to accept his donated sword. John’s sword, like other previously donated swords, will be engraved with his name and then presented to a Sir Knight who does not yet have a sword to be used by that Sir Knight in Honor Guard activities throughout the year.
Thank you Eva for entrusting us with his sword. It is our solemn promise that it will be used faithfully. Vivat Jesus!

Thank you for this article and I was so happy when I was told John’s sword could be donated for another 4th degree Knight to use. John loved the Knights and always told me if I ever needed any help I could call on the Knights. I am thankful for that. John was very active in his Council and I was once in the women’s group who supported activities. Not sure that is still in effect. God bless you all and may you all be strong support for our Priests and our Parishes.
